Granit Xhaka will make his first Arsenal start for a month in their Europa League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Emirates on Thursday.

Xhaka has not featured for Arsenal since he stormed off the pitch and taunted the home fans in a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.

The midfielder issued a statement and said his actions were caused in part by what he perceived to be harsh treatment from the club’s fans on social media and during matches.

Under-pressure Gunners boss Unai Emery subsequently stripped Xhaka of the club captaincy with striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang replacing him.

Arsenal will secure their place in the knockout stages by avoiding defeat against Frankfurt.
