Thierry Henry is embracing the “difficult challenge” ahead in his first season at the helm of the Montreal Impact.

Canada international Ballou Tabla has joined the Montreal Impact from Barcelona on a permanent transfer.

The 20-year-old winger started his professional career with the Impact. He was sold to Barca’s B team before the start of the 2018 season and then loaned back to Montreal in the summer of 2019.

“We are happy to have Ballou back with us following this transfer,” Impact sporting director Olivier Renard said in a team statement.

“The talent of this young Quebecer was never put into question. Now it’s up to him to do everything and bounce back.”

Tabla made 30 appearances during his time with Barcelona B. He has also spent time on loan at Albacete Balompie in Spain’s second division.

In all, he has made 28 appearances for the Impact, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

At international level, he has received two caps for Canada.
