City’s class showed in the second half, however, when Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden struck five minutes apart to put the match out of reach, and Aymeric Laporte added another to cap the scoring.

The victory keeps City’s hopes for a fourth consecutive Carabao Cup title on track and heaps more pressure on embattled Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, whose side are winless over their past four matches in all competitions.
