Manchester City and England goalkeeper Khiara Keating is due in court on Tuesday after being charged with possession of nitrous oxide, a class C drug also known as “hippy crack.”

The 20-year-old was arrested last month and will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court after being charged with possession of the drug.

A statement from Greater Manchester police said: “Khiara Keating [27/06/2004] from Manchester has been charged with possession of class C drugs [Nitrous Oxide]. She will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Tuesday 23 July.

“These charges relate to an incident which took place on Tuesday 18 June on Queens Road.”

ESPN has reached out to Man City for comment on the charges but has yet to receive a response.

Keating became the youngest player to win the Women’s Super League (WSL) Golden Glove last season after she kept nine clean sheets in 22 league games for City, who finished second in the WSL last term.

She received her first Lionesses call-up in October and was part of manager Sarina Wiegman’s squad for the recent Euro 2025 qualifiers, but she is yet to make her senior debut. She has played for England at Under-17, U19 and U23 level.
