Wrexham ended their tour of North America’s west coast undefeated after scoring a 4-1 win at MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps in the Canadian city on Saturday.

After recording highly credible draws with Premier League clubs Chelsea and Bournemouth in California, the League One side got the first win of the tour in front of celebrity owner Ryan Reynolds, who was watching on in his hometown.

Summer signing Sebastian Revan scored Wrexham’s opening goal on the 30-minute mark but Vancouver equalised 10 minutes after half-time with a stunning left-footed strike from distance by Giuseppe Bovalina.

The scores weren’t level for long, however. The Welsh club went back in front through Ireland international James McClean in the 68th minute. Wrexham then added an impressive gloss to the scoreline with further strikes from Elliot Lee and Jordan Davies before the full-time whistle.

Wrexham will now head home for a final friendly against Fleetwood Town in a week’s time before beginning their first season back in England’s third tier in 19 years against Wycombe on Aug. 10.

The Whitecaps will next be in action at LAFC in the Leagues Cup on Tuesday.
