Mohamed Salah has posted a cryptic message about his Liverpool future a day after scoring his team’s winning goal against Brighton.

Arne Slot extended his impressive start to his tenure with the 2-1 comeback victory, with the Egypt international scoring what the coach called a “Mo Salah special” to complete the turnaround.

Salah, 32, is one of a number of stars the Merseyside club risks losing for free at the end of the season, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk also out of contract next June.

“Top of the table is where this club belongs. Nothing less,” Salah wrote on social media on Sunday.

“All teams win matches but there’s only one champion in the end. That’s what we want. Thank you for your support last night.

“No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”

Salah told Sky Sports at the start of the season that this could be his final season with Liverpool, the team he joined in 2017 from AS Roma.

After his winner at Anfield on Saturday, he now has 164 goals in 273 appearances for the club. He won the Premier League under Jürgen Klopp in 2020 and the Champions League in 2019, as well as an FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Slot has remained tight-lipped on the future of Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold repeatedly when asked this season.
