England held the United States to a goalless draw at Wembley Stadium on Saturday in front of a record-breaking crowd for a women’s international friendly.

The USWNT were without their superstar front three of Mallory Swanson, Sophia Smith, and Trinity Rodman (nicknamed ‘Triple Espresso’) due to injury and struggled to create clear goal scoring opportunities.

Both the European champions and the Olympic champions struggled in attack. The USWNT were awarded a penalty for a handball by Alex Greenwood just after the hour mark but it was reversed following an intervention from the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
