Borussia Dortmund have been fined €20,000 ($21,762) by the German Football Association (DFB) for causing a one-minute delay to the start of a Bundesliga match.
The DFB had filed a formal complaint against Dortmund after captain Gregor Kobel was late to the coin toss at the Red Bull Arena for their encounter against RB Leipzig on April 27.

Dortmund said in a statement that the delay was due to “a Dortmund team huddle before the start of the game which had not been declared to the DFL (German Football League) beforehand in the matchday schedule.”
Leipzig won the game 4-1 at the Red Bull Arena. Jadon Sancho had put Dortmund ahead in the 20th minute before the home team fought back to take all three points.
Dortmund, who finished fifth in the Bundesliga this season, reached the Champions League final. They lost 2-0 against Real Madrid on Saturday.
Following the German club’s defeat, Dortmund’s head coach said Sancho will play in another Champions League final in his career, but added he does not know if the on-loan Manchester United winger’s future will be with the Bundesliga team.
