Christian Eriksen has completed a move from Tottenham to Inter Milan, bringing an end to his six-and-a-half year spell in north London.

Spurs announced his departure after confirming they had signed Giovani Lo Celso on a permanent deal until 2025.

Eriksen’s future had been up in the air with his contract due to expire at the end of the season and he has put pen to paper until 2024 at the San Siro.

“I couldn’t wait to join, it’s wonderful to be here and I’m happy to be a new Inter player,” Eriksen told the club’s official website. “I’m very excited and can’t wait to introduce myself to the fans.

“I’ve already experienced their warmth, it’s been a fantastic welcome. I feel great. I’m not really someone who places great importance on statistics but I know that there are people who like talking about this.

“The numbers say that I did really well in England. It’s now time to start a new challenge, I’m really happy to have the opportunity to play in Serie A for a big team. Inter is a fantastic club.”

The Denmark internatonal had been keen to depart last summer and has been heavily criticised for poor form this campaign, with manager Jose Mourinho having blamed his underwhelming performances on talk of his exit.

Eriksen has scored 51 goals and registered 62 assists in the Premier League since joining the London club from Ajax Amsterdam in 2013.  He helped Spurs reach the 2015 EFL Cup final as well as the Champions League final last season.

Inter have been busy this January, already signing Ashley Young from Manchester United and Victor Moses on loan from Chelsea — with another forward expected before the window closes.
