Paris Saint-Germain beat second-division side Le Mans 4-1 on Wednesday to secure passage into the quarterfinals of the Coupe de la Ligue.

Pablo Sarabia, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Kylian Mbappe all scored in the first half with Angel Di Maria adding a second-half goal to see the eight-time tournament champions advance.

Harisson Manzala scored the hosts’ lone consolation goal after PSG had already netted their four on the night.

“We worked well and were keen to show PSG could win by working hard. Simply, it was that hard work that helped us to win,” Di Maria said after the match. “2020 could be a great year for PSG. We will have to work, work and work to win. This is the goal — to do better than last season.”

PSG will next pair up with Saint-Etienne in January for a spot in the last-four of the competition, which is set to end after this season.

Wednesday’s win adds to a busy PSG schedule in the first parts of 2020 which includes a Champions League round-of-16 tilt with Borussia Dortmund.

“It is at home, so a good draw — no travel. Playing at home is the main thing as it is easier for us to organise and easier for the players,” PSG coach Thomas Tuchel said after the match. “We have many flights booked for January and February, so playing at Parc des Princes will be good.”
