Juventus secured a 2-1 win at bottom-placed Monza on Sunday, with goals from Weston McKennie and Nicolas Gonzalez helping their side end a four-match Serie A stalemate streak.

The result put Juve into sixth place with 31 points, nine behind leaders Atalanta, while Monza remain bottom of the table in 20th place with 10 points.

Juve took the lead after 14 minutes, with McKennie volleying in a corner unmarked, but Monza equalised eight minutes later through Samuele Birindelli’s perfectly met volley from a cross.

Juve regained the lead in the 39th minute when Gonzalez fired in following a scrambled clearance inside the box.

While Monza managed to gain momentum at times late in the match, neither side was able to change the scoreline, sending all three points back to Turin.
